I seem to keep missing what she is upset about. But at any rate, it is incredibly frustrating to see people have no regard for others, respect for elders, or self-control. But this behavior (or lack of)seems to be more of the norm these days. And what could you do, without causing the situation to escalate?
I think you're right, anything would make the matter worse unless you already knew the girl.
On the other hand, she got pretty close to the elderly lady. I'm not sure that I would have just sat there waiting to see if she was actually going to touch her.
I think it would also have been hard for me to not start laughing at the whole scene...which would probably make it worse too.
All I have to say is, "I'm pressing charges!" :)
